HWRC self-assessment tool
Zero Waste Scotland has developed a tool to provide local authorities with a way to easily assess the performance of one or a number of HWRCs.
The tool has been designed to be easy to use and no waste data is required. Instead, local authorities are asked to respond to a set of questions about best practice in areas such as signage, layout, containers, site management, staff and public engagement.
An action plan is provided based on the information shared and this will identify areas for improvement and existing best practice. This is a new resource for local authorities, and it has been developed to support consistent best practice across Scotland and help local authorities plan for the future.
