Garden

From responsibly disposing of your garden rubbish to choosing pollinator-friendly plants, there are lots of ways to make your green-fingered efforts more environmentally friendly. Throw away thoughts of an untamed wildflower meadow - whether a window box, concrete jungle or manicured lawn. Everyone can get involved.

Family planting in the garden

What can you do?

  1. Choose flowers loved by pollinating insects to encourage bees, butterflies and beetles.

  2. Pile up old bricks, rocks or wood in the corner of your garden to help bugs and insects flourish.

  3. Put grass cuttings, fallen leaves and other clippings in your garden recycling bin or take to your local household recycling centre.

  4. Swap your garden hose or sprinklers for a watering can.
