Nominate your work for the 2022 Earthshot Prize

Applications to be nominated for the 2022 Earthshot Prize are now closed, thank you to everyone who submitted an entry.

Zero Waste Scotland is calling on communities, people, and businesses in Scotland – who are focused on innovative environmental solutions - to enter 2022’s The Earthshot prize and be in with a chance of winning £1 million and access to unique support to further their pioneering work.

Launched by Prince William and The Royal Foundation in October 2020, The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environment prize in history. It’s designed to incentivise and inspire change that will help repair our planet over the next eight years.

Now in its second year, the Prize will see over 300 organisations from more than 80 countries - representing not-for-profit, foundation, investment, corporate, academic, governmental, and community led organizations - scope their expert networks and communities to find truly ground-breaking eco-solutions that can repair and regenerate the planet. In 2021, the city of Milan won the Earthshot Prize for their Food Waste Hubs. Launched in 2019 with the aim of halving waste by 2030, each hub recovers food mainly from supermarkets and companies’ canteens and gives it to NGOs who distribute it to the neediest citizens.

The Earthshot Prize team have appointed Zero Waste Scotland as official nominators in 2022 and have tasked us to identify the most impactful solutions across all sectors, from grassroots to businesses, in Scotland.
