Zero Waste Zones

The Zero Waste Zones Programme will create a nationwide network of individuals and groups who will work together to make Scotland a genuinely zero waste society; where all resources, including waste, are valued and used responsibly.

Zero Waste Zones can be businesses, offices, workplaces or communities, and they will work towards achieving award status and making a real difference to the local and national environment. Benefits will include the reduction of waste, financial and carbon savings, positive changes in behaviour and bringing people together in partnership to make significant changes and improvements to local areas.

Zero Waste Zones will be a national programme that will give everyone in Scotland the chance to make a real difference to our communities. Pilot projects will be starting this summer, with the national launch scheduled for later this year.

More information will be available on the Zero Waste Scotland website shortly.
