Ways to Recycle - Glass

Glass Bottles

When you recycle your glass bottles and jars, they can be transformed into a range of new products, including new glass bottles and jars, concrete paving, construction aggregate and golf course sand.

You can recycle all glass bottles and jars, after they are rinsed clean and the lids are removed.  You can put your glass into your kerbside recycling container (in most areas), or take them to your local glass recycling point.  At your local glass recycling point, please make sure that you put your brown, green and clear glass into the correct containers so that they can be recycled into new bottles and jars.  There are around 2,100 glass recycling points across Scotland.  The glass is then collected and taken to a recycling facility.
