Re-use materials

Are you looking for ways to re-use more?

Test your DIY skills

Can you repair something instead of replacing it? There are lots of how to videos on YouTube or have a look on IFixIt which has lots of repair guides.

How about giving something a new lease of life by upcycling it? There is lots of inspiration out there but if you’re not sure where to start have a look on Pinterest.

Pass it on

If you don’t have a need for something anymore, does someone else want it? Why not have a clothes swap with friends or set up a give box at work?

For larger household items which are in good condition (and if it is a sofa or armchair has the fire safety tag attached) why not get the National re-use phone line to get a local re-use organisation to collect your item for free and pass it on to be used by someone else.

Make some cash

Selling your old items is a great way to make some extra cash and make the item last longer. There are lots of online websites you can sell through for example EBay and Gumtree.  Or you could attend a local car boot sale or set up your own
