Pancake Day

How do you eat yours?  I’m a bit of a traditionalist and enjoy mine with lemon and sugar, my youngest son likes them with bacon and maple syrup and the dog – well he’d eat them with anything.

Of course pancakes are a great way for using up leftovers and you can have them as a savoury main course or for dessert.

On pancake day some people eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I’m not sure that’s the healthiest thing to do.

Originally it was a way or using up all the excess food before the strict diet of Lent, and although not many people do that now, it is a reminder that we shouldn’t let our food go to waste.  For more ideas check out and go to the twitter page to find lots of different ideas on how to eat your pancakes.
