A small fund has been launched by Zero Waste Scotland to support projects focussing on increasing SME recycling within the Scottish business community. Funding is available for up to 4 projects and expressions of interest should be submitted using the associated form by 3rd February 2012.
In Scotland, from 2013, new regulations will come into force which will require businesses to segregate key waste streams for collection. This presents an opportunity for new thinking around how businesses procure their waste management services through business or community-led initiatives which aim to secure cost-effective solutions through a collaborative approach.
