Local Authority Survey on use of powers to tackle litter and waste

Reporting Local Authority progress on implementing legislation to keep land clear of litter and refuse.

Commissioned by Zero Waste Scotland and undertaken by Keep Scotland Beautiful, tha aim of this report is to investigate and demonstrate the extent to which local authorities throughout Scotland utilise and exercise the powers available to them, through Part II and Part IV of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, to control litter and refuse.

E-mail questionnaires were sent to all 32 local authorities in Scotland, with 30 completed returns.

"Similar surveys have since been commissioned directly by Keep Scotland Beautiful to provide comparable data for 2012-13 and 2014-15. **need to check with KSB before we say this (and not sure results are publicly available)** (provide link if possible)".
