Local Authority Kerbside Good Practice Guide

The purpose of this document is to provide Scottish Local Authorities with guidance and examples which demonstrate good practice inrelation to the kerbside collection of non-recyclable (black bag) waste, dry recyclable waste and organic waste.

This guidance has been produced in response to requests from waste management officers (through CoSLA), and describes good practice examples of how local authorities can deliver the requirements of the WSRs.

This guidance does not intend to discard the value of waste prevention measures, applied at both a local and national level, instead seeking to provide a guide for Scottish Local Authorities to more effectively manage and realise the value of waste once it has been presented at the kerbside for collection.
