Zero Waste Scotland will be able to provide limited funding to provide campaigns communications support via our Campaigns Team and six selected framework contractors.
Projects supported will increase impact relating to:
Increased recycling
Waste prevented or reduced
Increased capture of key materials (food, plastics, aluminium & textiles)
Running a more efficient service
Support will be delivered via appointed framework contractors, and Zero Waste Scotland will fund project management, campaign strategy development, organising of media booking and printing and related activities.
The Zero Waste Scotland Regional Partnership Managers will offer direct support to Local Authorities to aid them in their bids, which will then be submitted to the National Partnership Manager for assessment. Successful bids will be offered to the framework contractors to tender for, and the NPM will select the best tender and contractor for the project. The contractor will then work directly with the council on the project.
In this pilot year (to March 2012), each Local Authority may submit up to two applications, with a maximum value of £25,000 each. This fund seeks to add value and support to projects that Local Authorities are already planning to fund and undertake, and it is not designed to pay for items such as printing, advertising or marketing delivery.
